Right after the holidays, I woke one morning to find the computer was off. Odd, we hardly ever turn it off. It just goes to sleep. I press the power button and walked out of the office to put the coffee on. After Reese getting up, changing her bum and going pee . . . I walked back in to see it was still off. Odd. I pressed the power button and waited . . . nothing. I pressed it, and held it - a loud beeping started which scared me so I stopped. It powered up for a second, and then BLANK.
Oh no . . .
I left it alone. I was so sad that I sort of ignored it for a few days. Finally I called the Apple store to ask about bringing it in. I made an appoint that evening (a Sunday) with the Genius Bar.
Short of the long is, it died. The HD was ok - but blank, it deleted itself. Bummer. WE dumbly had no back up system, so almost all was lost. They did a manual recovery and found most of our pictures, but not all. The computer was not fixable, and if it was, was not worth the money. We bought a new laptop that evening, which we were not ready for.
It has a built in camera (our iMac was so old, it did not) and has this program called Photobooth. Reese LOVES it, she can see herself, then it counts down and takes her picture. The above one was a first try.
