First Injury

Today we went to Michelle & Matt's for an after Thanksgiving Party. I took Reese down early because she took a short nap and we were both feeling like it was time to get out of the house. She was really enjoying herself . . . wandering all around, getting to know a 2 year old Layla and their new puppy Ozzie. Michelle took Reese and I into the back room, where we opened Reese's birthday presents early. As I did this, Reese walked backward looking up, tripped and fell hitting her chin on a small coffee table. I watched the horror on her little face. Her lip immediately started to puff up and blood poured out. I got her to the bathroom where she screamed and I tried to hold a cool washcloth to her lower lip but all she did was bury her little head in my shoulder. I got it to stop bleeding and tried to nurse to help calm her. She latched a bit but was still unable to calm. Danny and I decided it was best to go home, the drive was short and Reese was already crying. I drove up Sharp Park quick, taking the turns and trying to not pay too much attention to the crying Reese in the back, but to the road. We got home and she more at ease, quickly calming down. We sat on the couch, cuddling and watched a cartoon to help distract her from the huge and painful lip. By 7pm, she was just done with the day and I think the Tylenol that we gave her right away was kicking in. Danny got her ready for bed, I nursed her and rubbed her back to sleep. She was out by 7:30.

Oswald makes everything better :)

OUCH! That poor baby :(
Glad it was not too serious, and nothing a little momma time couldn't fix.
Jenna fell down the stairs a week before her first birthday and had a nice scab on her nose for all her pics!
So far nothing worse and we just celebrated her 6th birthday on Saturday!
