Well Baby Check-up

Reese had her well check-up on Thursday and boy, was it rough! I knew going in that she would have two shots but in the end . . . we had to do more. Reese has been having MAJOR rash issues and everything I try, it never clears completely. Or, she will poop all day . . . and it just gets so much worse. Dr. Lee and I discussed many things. Could be an allergy? Possibly Celiac Disease (which Gigi and Auntie Donna have)? Allergy to the cloth diapers? Allergy to the detergent I use? We decided to do some general food allergy test, a test for anemia and Celiac.

(on the lab chair)

This meant after having shots, we had to go to the Lab and have her blood drawn . . . it was hard, she cried before we even started! The ladies that did it were helpful, one held the arm, one drew the blood . . . I had her on my lap hugging her other arm down. She is pretty strong so i felt worse having to hold her in a lock hold but I knew she would just pull the needle out. Luckily, before we left I had given her some Motrin knowing the shots would be coming.

Stats:
Weight ~ 22.5 lbs
Height ~ 32 1/4 in.
HC ~ 44.7 cm

(so sad . . . shot and blood drawn, Mama had to take a picture!)

After all this, we had more waiting for the prescription ointment for the rash (that had turned bacterial). We got there and I thought for sure it would be ready . . . but NO! I went up to check and thank goodness I did, there was some mix up, a guy got yelled at and the lady filled it right then for me. Reese had calmed a bit with being able to take lotion bottles off the shelf (and put them back) but she was done by the time I had to pay.

(busy girl)

Now . . . we just wait and see what they say. Her little bum looks better and seems to no longer be infected! I'll keep you all posted.

oh man, sounds like a rough day! lila had her blood taken twice (both times at cpmc). they have a little infant room with stickers and stuff for the little ones at the blood lab. still sucked though.

hope it isn't celiac or anything serious! keep us posted about what happens.
