A Rough Day & Finding Out Why

On Sunday, Father's Day - we were all on our way down the the North Beach Fair when Maureen noticed Reese's cheek was red "I remember that Bridget had a red cheek when she was teething." I commented that I thought Reese was going to teeth forever and thought nothing of it.

Yesterday, after Reese first Pre-Tiny Tots swim class with Dad, her cheeks were bright red - again thought nothing of it. Maybe the chlorine water bothered them.

Today, I ventured to swim class where Reese spent the entire 10 (to maybe 12) minutes we were in the pool softly crying, almost whimpering and licking my shoulder. I figured the pool was too bright, she was tired, or hungry (even thought I just feed her). I gave up and went in to get changed (that is a whole other Blog).

We came home and Reese ate and feel asleep. We had plans to go to Baby Boogie at The Yoga Loft in the City so after an hour and half I went in and stroked her tiny hand to wake her up. I felt bad, but we had plans with another SBMC Mom, Michelle, so I changed her and she was a happy girl.

It was a different story when we got there. More whimpering, thumb sucking, kind of eating and not dancing at all. She threw up on me and finally I said to Michelle, I think she is done - let's go home.

Off topic: On the way home, a Bee hit the side of my window, then hit the top my head and landed on my back. I had to pull over on the side of Skyline to jump out and it flew away. Odd.

At home, she ate, we cuddle and then sat in her pink Boppy chair (which I call the Poop Chair because I think the vibration makes her poop) and I went over to her and peered down. "When are we going to pop some teeth" I said and felt her gums with my newly clean hands. And there it was.

Teeth2

Sort of soft but ragged. But you can definitely feel her 2 bottom teeth coming in, but I am pretty sure the right will be in plain view any day now. I was so excited I got on the phone to call Maureen, then my Mom and leave a message for Auntie Corinn.

Teeth1

I know it is hard to see - but if you look REAL close you can see the clear little edges poking through. What a big girl, and just 8 days shy of being 6 months.

We had some more cuddles, after pictures of course, then enjoyed a cool toy to chew on.

Helping teeth

Reese was done with that in minutes. I knew what she needed. Bedtime routine (this child has got herself of such easy routines). We changed diaper, PJ's on, Halo Sleep Sack on and a bit of Boob while in her rocking chair in her room as the iPod plays soft sleepy music. She was asleep in minutes.

Aww.. I see them in there. Each child reacts differently to teething as you know. Poor little girl! I think Stevie is getting his uppers now! He is a mess! He wants me to hold him constantly! Baby Boogie? Sounds fun! Lets plan someting soon!

teeth are handy! could you imagine if babies where like puppies... now you would have to worry about her shredding her bedding, chewing on the couch, eating your favorite shoes...
much better to have to put up with some fussiness before. keep her stocked with those cool toys. i hear a washcloth with an ice cube in it works great to. i like it...
