They say it take 9 months to put it on and 9 months to take it off . . . but I lost the weight I gained with pregnancy and now I am left being the same fat woman I was before. This was my biggest fear - of being a fat Mom. They also say that breastfeeding can burn 200 - 500 calories per day so I am not gaining, but do to my lack of exercise - I have not lost.
Late one night, I came up with a small but do-able plan. I have always had issues sticking to a "diet" but I am really not eating bad - I am even eating vegetables, really! But that darn exercise. I find it annoying, time consuming and well, sweaty. BUT what if I just walked - with Reese.
I started looking for a better walking/jogger stroller to use. I have a great umbrella style one but it is hard on the hands for a long walk and it's wheels are not made for uneven paths. Not like I was going off roading, but if I go to trails around us it may not be the best. I quickly realized they are made with HUGE wheels and are just plain ol' big. So, out of curiosity I looked for a used Bugaboo - the uber stroller. It is the Cadillac of strollers and runs $800 to $1000 (depending on the styles) new at stores. I would not pay that (nor do I have that) but I turned to my trusty old friend - Craigslist! After some late night searching, I found two different ones selling for great prices. I sent emails and headed off to bed.
In the morning, one woman had replied - but she was in Oakland. It seemed silly to go over a bridge to get a used stroller. I took a shower and started to get ready to go to Palcare to my last classes Graduation. I had to check my email one more time to see if that the other woman had emailed me . . . She did! It was still available, in red and she was in Daly City. I called and went and bought it! Crazy, I know - but I did. I must stop bashing my hubby . . . especially now that he let me spend that kind of money on a stroller!!!
Today, we went on our first walk - I have a nice path called Milagra Ridge near my house and I thought that would be nice, quiet and not too hard on my lazy butt. It took awhile to get all set up to venture out - but we did. I drove there mainly because I knew I was not in shape to walk there and walk the actual trail, and come back! We will work up to that!!!
It was warm but a little breezy. I had Reese covered but cool and I made sure to put on lots of sunscreen and wear a hat - I always burn my head. We walked and of course, I get a cramp - I am so out of shape I get a cramp walking on a small hill for 12 minutes - I am sad. But, I stretch it and kept on going. The stroller works like a champ and can even go off roading - I took it on a rocking/sandy path back and it did great. Reese seemed to really enjoy herself and only whined when we were almost to the car, I think she knew we were done.

You can do it mama!!! Stick to you, it'll be worth it in the end. If not for your body, but for your heart & your mind.
Lucky Duck! I want a bugaboo! Too bad no one up here sells them on craigslist! Yay for walking, too! It will be so good for you and Reese will have fun, too!
I totally feel you on that one! I had lost my baby weight within a month, but now I'm back to me. I'm going to have to take some inspiration from you and get my butt in gear in the mornings so I can walk with DJ before work!
YOU GO MOM! JUST REMEMBER TO STRECH FIRST.DADDY
Way to go! That stroller looks SWEET, too!
